Vision & Values

Vision

To shine the light of Jesus throughout Portland so that people discover God’s pathway to community, growth and life transformation.

"Let your light shine in front of people. Then they will see the good that you do and praise your Father in heaven."

Matthew 5:16, GW

Strategy

1. To create a Sunday morning experience that is relevant and irresistible.
2. To offer top-notch children’s and youth ministries.
3. To connect every active attender into a small group.
4. To mobilize the people of Crossroads to reach out beyond our own walls.

Core Values

Changed Lives

Knowing Jesus is where the journey begins.God’s purpose is that we would be completely transformed in a personal relationship with Christ. This is the primary way we measure success as a church. It’s all about Jesus!

Psalm 51; Romans 6:4, 12:2; 2 Corinthians 3:18, 5:17; Galatians 5:22-25; Colossians 3:10

Authentic Relationships

A healthy, unified church family is a key to church growth. We are real with each other and accepting of one another. We’re better when we're unified in Christ!

Psalm 133:1-3; Acts 2:44-47; Romans 12:9-18; 1 Corinthians 12:25-27; Hebrews 10:24-25

Outward Focus

Jesus calls us to reach people where they are, requiring us
to be culturally relevant and sensitive to the needs of others. He also calls us to go
outside our own walls and engage the world around us. We love our community!

Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 28:18-20; Luke 15; John 17:18; Acts 17:16-34; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23

Visionary Ownership

Our goal is to have every active attender serving and encouraging others to join them in ministry. Ownership motivates us to give our time
and resources to something bigger than ourselves. Join the movement!

Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12, 15:58; 2 Corinthians 8:7; Ephesians 4:11-16, 6:7; Philippians 2:2

Strategic Environments

Our ministries are intentional, encourage next steps, and further our overall church vision. Integration between ministries and generations
is valued. While our mission and message never change, our methods will continually
be evaluated for improvement. God deserves our best!

Proverbs 21:5; 1 Corinthians 10:31, 15:58; Philippians 1:6-11; Colossians 3:17
