Hi! I'm Pastor Tom Burgess.
Thank you for your interest in the Crossroads Church. I hope that you have had a chance to meet some of our wonderful people through a small group or one of our Celebration services. We want you to feel at home and enjoy your time at Crossroads.

At Crossroads, we are just ordinary people who go through the same problems and experiences as everyone else. We find strength in our struggles through Jesus Christ. Our desire is to see hurts healed and fresh starts begin by sharing Jesus with others. The Apostle Peter wrote, "You should be like one big happy family, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds."

Pastor Tom has been the Preaching Pastor at Crossroads for 28 years. He received his Bachelor's of Theology from NW College of the Bible and received his Masters in Ministry from Kentucky Christian. Tom's father-in-law was the minister here for 33 years and his theme for life was a sinner saved by grace. Tom & Esther have been married 38 years and have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren.

"Every day in the Temple and in people's homes they continued teaching the people and telling the Good News - that Jesus is the Christ." Acts 5:42

There are many important things we do as Christians.  Getting together on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights to worship, pray, praise and receive teaching is of great importance.  Another inspiring activity is the application of God's Word and ministry to each other.  This takes place primarily in our small groups.

When we meet in smaller groups, we are able to build relationships, minister to those in need, and learn more about God's Word and its application to our lives.

Mila Polevia was born on the island of Tutuila in American Samoa and has been involved in music since dancing for the governor of Hawaii, John Burns, at the early age of 8. Since then, he has recorded 7 CD's and performed from L.A. to Tokyo to Russia. Previously, Mila has been the Music Director of several congregations, as well as a Talent Director at Tokyo Disneyland. Mila has 2 children, Hannah and Gibson, and resides with his blessing of a wife, Joanna, in Milwaukie.

Dana Brown has been the Minister to Children and Parents at Crossroads Church since January 2002. She received her Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Abilene Christian University in 1984. As the youngest daughter of an A Cappella Church of Christ minister’s family, Dana began teaching Bible classes at an early age. She taught Choir in public and private schools in Texas and Oregon before moving to New York in 1992. While in New York Dana established and ran her own Music School, Tunes for Tots. She was the nanny to 3 beautiful girls for a family in Manhattan before returning to her home in the Northwest in the spring of 2001. After many years of serving as a Music Minister and Sunday School teacher she is thrilled to be part of the wonderful Ministry staff at Crossroads.

Jon Hunnell has been working at Crossroads since 2000 and has been the Minister to Students and Parents since June of 2004.  Jon is finishing up his degree in Religion and Christian Ministries from Warner Pacific College and will graduate in May of 2007.  Jon married his beautiful wife Matina in November 2005, and they love living in Portland.  Jon also grew up at Crossroads Church and considers it a great blessing to work as a Minister in his home church..
